Por razones totalmente ajenas a mi voluntad me veo obligada a cerrar este blog temporalmente.
No voy a eliminarlo.

I'll miss you!
Chari.

BYE, BYE 4ºESO !!!

My dear students,
It's been wonderful to see you grow up and learn throughout these years.
We've had fun together and we've also worked very hard. We've shared some moments that I will cherish forever.
I wish you all the best of luck at your new highschool. But always remember there's something more important than being a good student, and that is being a good person.

I'll miss you all,
Chari
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LAST FRIDAY.

AT THE RESTAURANT

Do you like eating out?

As an EXTRA ACTIVITY for unit 6 you'll have to write a role play and act it out in front of your class. The story will take place at the restaurant.

There will be three or four students in each group and the role play must be ready before the 23rd of May.

You may need some help with the VOCABULARY and EXPRESSIONS used at the restaurant.

Here are some helpful sites:
- VOCABULARY at the restaurant (and pronounciation practice)
- USEFUL SENTENCES: booking, ordering, paying, etc.

Now, you can watch this as an example.

ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR FUTURE?

We spend most of our lives thinking and worrying about our future:
"Will I pass my exams? Will I get married? Will I get a good job? Will I be happy? Will we control Global Warming?...

..."We should all be concerned about our future because we'll have to spend the rest of our lives there." Charles F. Kettering (inventor).

I can make a prediction right now: IF you do this EXTRA ACTIVITY you'll improve your English!!

Now practise the future tense with an old song:

Que Será Será
When I was just a little girl

I asked my mother,
what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.
Que Será, Será,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Será, Será
What will be, will be.
When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.
Que Será, Será,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Será, Será
What will be, will be.
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.
Que Será, Será,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Será, Será
What will be, will be.

Miriam and Rocío (4ºC) wanted this song "Stand by me". OK, girls, here it is:

EASTER

In Great Britain and America they celebrate EASTER. Easter is a festival of joy. The joy that celebrates the victory of life over death. Simbols like eggs, and bunnies are mixed up with that idea.
In Spain they celebrate HOLY WEEK.

Now, enjoy these two songs of one of my favourite musicals, Jesus Christ Superstar. Here you can listen to Jesus praying in Gethsemane.

And now you can listen to and sing a love song by Mary Magdalene

VIRTUAL WORLD (unit 3, 3ºESO)

This is some information about a virtual world you know: Code Lyoko.

This animated series is an example of what we're studying now in unit 3: Virtual living.

Now, you can learn more about Code Lyoko and sing the song.

SONG: A world without danger
There is a world that is virtual and different
It can be so cold
Makes us stand up for what’s right
Our hope through the life if we reset it to the start

CHORUS
Here we are going far
To save all that we love
If we give all we've got we will make it through
Here we are like a star
Shining bright on your world - today
Make evil go away
Code Lyoko we'll reset it all
Code Lyoko be there when you call
Code Lyoko we will stand real tall
Code Lyoko stronger after all
A world of machines it can shadow human nature
And all that we need
Is the way to find the answer
And one thing’s sure
You can count on us for good

REPEAT CHORUS
We’ll do our best
To never let you down
We’re up to the test
To turn this world around
REPEAT CHORUS

STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN! And against every human being.

November 25th is the day to remind the whole world that we must stop VIOLENCE against women

Today was probably another ordinary day for you, but TODAY lots of WOMEN all over the world SUFFERED just because they are women.

For some women HOME is not a refuge, but a place of terror. Every day, in every country in the world, women and girls are beaten and sexually assaulted by husbands, fathers, and other family members. They usually don't tell anybody because they feel scared, embarrased, isolated...

But that's not the way to stop violence. Ask for help if you are in this situation, or know anybody who is.

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene

Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright

In this town of Halloween

I am the one hiding under your bed

Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red

I am the one hiding under your stairs

Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair

This is Halloween, this is
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!

In this town we call home

Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

In this town, don't we love it now?

Everybody's waiting for the next surprise

Round that corner, man hiding in the trash can

Something's waiting now to pounce, and how you'll...Scream!

Red 'n' black, slimy green

Say it once, say it twice

Take a chance and roll the dice

In our town of Halloween!

I am the clown with the tear-away face

Here in a flash and gone without a trace

I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?"

I am the wind blowing through your hair

I am the shadow on the moon at night

Filling your dreams to the brim with fright

This is Halloween, this is Halloween

Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!

Halloween! Halloween! Tender lumplings everywhere

Life's no fun without a good scare

That's our job, but we're not mean
