Por razones totalmente ajenas a mi voluntad me veo obligada a cerrar este blog temporalmente.
No voy a eliminarlo.

I'll miss you!

BYE, BYE 4ºESO !!!

My dear students,
It's been wonderful to see you grow up and learn throughout these years.
We've had fun together and we've also worked very hard. We've shared some moments that I will cherish forever.
I wish you all the best of luck at your new highschool. But always remember there's something more important than being a good student, and that is being a good person.

I'll miss you all,

My heart will go on...

To all the girls in 4ºA (OK, and the boys, too)

Do you like eating out?

As an EXTRA ACTIVITY for unit 6 you'll have to write a role play and act it out in front of your class. The story will take place at the restaurant.

There will be three or four students in each group and the role play must be ready before the 23rd of May.

You may need some help with the VOCABULARY and EXPRESSIONS used at the restaurant.

Here are some helpful sites:
- VOCABULARY at the restaurant (and pronounciation practice)
- USEFUL SENTENCES: booking, ordering, paying, etc.

Now, you can watch this as an example.

We spend most of our lives thinking and worrying about our future:
"Will I pass my exams? Will I get married? Will I get a good job? Will I be happy? Will we control Global Warming?...

..."We should all be concerned about our future because we'll have to spend the rest of our lives there." Charles F. Kettering (inventor).

I can make a prediction right now: IF you do this EXTRA ACTIVITY you'll improve your English!!

Now practise the future tense with an old song:

Que Será Será
When I was just a little girl

I asked my mother,
what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.
Que Será, Será,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Será, Será
What will be, will be.
When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.
Que Será, Será,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Será, Será
What will be, will be.
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.
Que Será, Será,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Será, Será
What will be, will be.

Miriam and Rocío (4ºC) wanted this song "Stand by me". OK, girls, here it is:

We're bringing theatre to our school!

Next Monday (March, 31st) FACE2FACE are coming to our school to perform the play HOTEL CANTERVILLE.

Remember you must get ready for the play by doing the activities proposed in class.

And don't forget to learn the songs...

In Great Britain and America they celebrate EASTER. Easter is a festival of joy. The joy that celebrates the victory of life over death. Simbols like eggs, and bunnies are mixed up with that idea.
In Spain they celebrate HOLY WEEK.

Now, enjoy these two songs of one of my favourite musicals, Jesus Christ Superstar. Here you can listen to Jesus praying in Gethsemane.

And now you can listen to and sing a love song by Mary Magdalene

HELLO, young inventors!
I know you're very busy preparing your new inventions, but I think you should STOP!...

...and have a look at all the INVENTIONS related to Communication, Medicine, Food, Transportation, etc. created by men.

You can see some of them in the SCIENCE MUSEUM (London).

You can learn more about some of these FASCINATING OBJECTS.

And now you can have fun playing:
Which two inventions do you prefer?
Why? Write a short composition explaining it.
Which game did you enjoy the most? Why?

Now that we are going to start working with ICT, you will need to know some basic VOCABULARY related to computers and the internet.
You probably know many of the words already.

Love, love, love...

Here's the song Romeo and Juliet, by my favourite band: Dire Straits.

On St. Valentine's Day, everybody says "I love you" to their sweethearts...
Can you imagine how many different ways you can say "I love you " ?

How much do you know about St. Valentine's day?
Try these trivia games:

Now, why don't you try to complete this love letter

This is some information about a virtual world you know: Code Lyoko.

This animated series is an example of what we're studying now in unit 3: Virtual living.

Now, you can learn more about Code Lyoko and sing the song.

SONG: A world without danger
There is a world that is virtual and different
It can be so cold
Makes us stand up for what’s right
Our hope through the life if we reset it to the start

Here we are going far
To save all that we love
If we give all we've got we will make it through
Here we are like a star
Shining bright on your world - today
Make evil go away
Code Lyoko we'll reset it all
Code Lyoko be there when you call
Code Lyoko we will stand real tall
Code Lyoko stronger after all
A world of machines it can shadow human nature
And all that we need
Is the way to find the answer
And one thing’s sure
You can count on us for good

We’ll do our best
To never let you down
We’re up to the test
To turn this world around
